“Footprints sent me an amazing guide able to walk into adventures like no one else I know: a star chef, linguist, story keeper and good sport. For any exploration, Footprints are the best!”

“My daughter and I spent three months traveling in Ecuador. With Footprints Ecuador's help we were able to spend an AMAZING 3½ weeks in the Galapagos Islands. Instead of the average 4-8 day trip, where you fly in, get on a boat, spend a TON of money and leave almost as quickly as you arrived, we were able to stay for an extended period of time, see all the sights we wanted, yet only paying a fraction of the cost! Footprints helped with every aspect of our trip, from getting there to finding comfortable accommodations with friendly and helpful staff. Recommendations for finding fabulous food to seeing sights not to miss helped us daily during our stay. Footprints was even able to recommend dive companies that were able to accommodate newly certified divers as myself and my then 12-year-old daughter so that we could explore the under water world without worry. We were able to experience the sights of one of the most uniquely enchanting places on this planet in a way that would not have been possible without the expertise of Footprints. They offer a wealth of information that should not be missed if you are even slightly interested in exploring these magnificent Islands.”

Secret Garden Homestay, Mompiche

“We really enjoyed staying at Roni's house. So much, we stayed two days longer than planned before. We liked her way of living (reuse, recycle, re-anything) a lot, and even more we liked preparing food in her nice and roomy kitchen. Her fruit shakes were delicious, and her cats adorable. Thanks for the good time we could spend in your beautiful house, and all the tips and suggestions concerning our time in Mombiche! It was a pleasure!”

I ended up spending nearly two weeks with Roni at the Secret Garden after planning to stay just 4 nights but feeling too comfortable to leave. It's a combination of good conversation, lots of laughing and goofing around, a truly comfortable and homey environment and an atmosphere in which you can learn many things (making chocolate, weaving palm baskets, cooking with herbs from the garden, making natural insect repellent, baking all kinds of things with bananas.. etc) The house itself blends right into the environment around it. The open walls allow the breeze to come through - making it easy to sleep at night even in the tropics - and there's always a view of the village. There are five hammocks perfectly placed on the main floor by the kitchen which allow everyone to comfortably hang around and chat, read, nap.. I could carry on describing the Secret Garden in explicit detail, but I think one of the best parts of staying there for me was the element of surprise. It was definitely more than I anticipated and I had a wonderful time. I truly hope to have an opportunity to return in the future. Thanks Roni!

Hotel Los Balcones, Mompiche

We enjoyed our stay at Los Balcolnes very much. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, bed comfortable, bathrooms nice, everything working as it should (once my husband cleaned out the shower head!). We enjoyed the location on the main road and spent most of our time on the balcony watching the local kids run up and down the street. We would definitely stay there again if we ever are in Mompiche.
